3 points to win... we rotate ... our most consistent server steps up to the line ... yes! we got this -the game is in the bag!.... ball is tossed into the air .... she approaches ....she connects ..... hit right smack into the net. ughhhh we lose the serve - gotta get the serve back... pressure is on ... defense falls apart ... one messes up, the others start to follow ....in the end we lose

still trying to figure out how to teach executing under pressure and stopping the domino effect that happens so often to us

I suggest you implement a process whereby the girl who screws up HAS to tell the other girls on the court "pick me up" or something like that.
This would be more of a "positive" team spirit attitude. Sometimes, little things help!

I've always treated practice as "game situation". As they always say practice makes perfect.
Trying to teach playing under pressure can be considered difficult especially when most of these girls have never experienced pressure.
Do role playing at practice. Make them work for obtainable goals. Put that pressure on them in practice.
Remember practice makes perfect.

All excellent ideas. I have tried putting them in game situations in practice with running repercussions for not executing, tried building their confidence with pep talks and encouragement.... have even explained how one teammate messes up they need the other to pick them up.... but still once there is a crowd it's like a whole new world.

I think next season I am bringing in an audience for practices. :)

I will try to enforce the girl who screws up Having to tell the other girls on the court "pick me up" and keep doing game sitaution role playing.

Thanks for all your input.

I like to use electro shock therapy. it normally only takes 1 practice to have the desired effect.
